Founder Overview

Eric Moorhead, MS, brings over 10 years of scientific communications experience spanning pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, biotechnology startups, and strategic consulting. He founded Good Chemistry Communications to provide senior-level scientific expertise directly to clients, eliminating the inefficiencies of traditional agency models.

Eric's scientific foundation includes graduate training in organic chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin, where he completed a formal synthesis of the anti-cancer agent Rocaglamide, published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society. He subsequently worked in drug discovery at Cubist Pharmaceuticals and Macrolide Pharmaceuticals, designing and synthesizing novel antibiotic compounds to address antimicrobial resistance. This bench experience provides deep understanding of drug development, regulatory requirements, and the translation of preclinical research into clinical applications.

As Associate Director of Scientific Communications at Avanos Medical, Eric led medical strategy and stakeholder engagement for a multi-product portfolio. He authored 10+ peer-reviewed manuscripts in high-impact journals, managed medical conference strategy, and provided scientific guidance to marketing, health economics, and investor relations teams. He directly supervised scientific communications staff and managed relationships with key opinion leaders across multiple medical societies.

Prior to Avanos, Eric served as Senior Scientific Executive at Spectrum Science, a strategic communications agency, where he led engagements across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and consumer goods clients. He was lead scientist of the agency's early-stage biotech practice, developing scientific positioning and investor relations strategies for venture-backed companies. He also founded Good Chemistry LLC (predecessor to Good Chemistry Communications) as a scientific consultancy to a billion-dollar cosmetics company, establishing quality control programs and providing scientific validation for marketing claims.

This combination of bench science expertise, corporate medical affairs leadership, and strategic consulting experience enables Good Chemistry to deliver sophisticated scientific communications across the full commercialization pathway - from laboratory research through regulatory approval and market launch.
